One little word-focus

I'm picking this word because it would help me a lot in school and outside of school with getting a job and trying to get my permit/ license. In school if i focus I can remember things better and get better grades. I also want to play basketball or baseball this year and my grades have to be high enough to play. So i'm going to focus.

Haiti before earthquake

I went to wikipedia to get all this information for this post. Haiti was a poor country even before the earthquake. The people that lived there would be lucky to get an hour of power on a good day. Haiti was the first country in latin america to be independant. They use french as an official language. The other french speaking countries are all overseas departments and collectivists. They were part of the successful slave rebellion. Haiti is one third of the island Hispaniola. As a gateway to the Caribbean Hispaniola was a haven for pirates.

Earthquake in haiti

A major earthquake hit Haiti Tuesday. Lots of people reported heavy damages to their capital. People were also looking for family and friends. There were a lot of dead people on the streets. This earthquake was a 7.0. Which is pretty bad even for a bigger place with more money. On a good day Haitians might have power for an hour or so. This country is very poor. To clean this mess up its going to need alot of help. In Port-au-Prince the capital, homes built with large concrete bricks were ripped apart and concrete blocks were all over the streets. This was a poor country and this horrible earthquake will not help their economy. The body count is very high and the U.S. state department was told to expect "serious loss of life".The earthquake was centered about 10 miles away from Port-au-Prince. There was a huge dust cloud covering the city.

I think this blogging thing is kinda cool. My blog has helped me with my writing especially on a computer. I can type faster and spell a little better. It’s also interesting that you can see what your classmates wrote on their blogs while writing about the same thing. I’d like to be able to type a lot faster and be more accurate when I’m typing. I’d also like to have better grammar. Id rather do work on my laptop because its faster. I don’t like doing worksheets very much. On the computer I can type it, post it on my blog, and I’m done. I could also listen to music the whole time if i wanted to, which makes doing work easier.

Acceleration is a decent book. Its about a kid that works underground at a lost and found at a subway station. He ends up finding a book. This book is more like a diary of things he did. The crazy guys called Roach. Thats about where i am in the book and its pretty interesting. This book is kinda slow at first but gets better and more interesting as you go.

Did you hear about the big blue flower that
apparently grew up threw a hole in the ground?
It grew up through dirt sand rocks and mud.
This doesn’t happen very often but obviously
this flower isn’t a rule follower. It has a long dark green
stock like no other. Its a strong and awesome mix of
green and blue altho its past is gray. This flower will
conquer its future no matter what it takes on.

I have a dream.....

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968
“Whatever your life's work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the
living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.”

Micheal Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. He later got his named changed to Martin. He graduated high school when he was 15 years old. He got the
B.A. award in 1948 from Marehouse College. In the 11 years between 1957 and 1968 Martin Luther King traveled over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times. This quote basically means whatever your doing with your life, do it well. If you dont theres others who will. Which makes sense. Always try your best. If you do your best you will someday be where you wanna be in life. He died on April 4, 1968.

What happens to a teenager in jail?

What happens to a teenager in jail?

Does he lose his shine
like a bowling ball rolled through mud?
Or just break like glass--
And then swept into the trash?
Does it stink like trash?
Or sugary sweet--
like a waffle with too much syrup?

Maybe it just crumbles
like a broken rock.

Or does it turn to dust?

Dear Jerry.
Hi how are you doing? Im not doin so well. My case isnt lookin too good at this point but, i miss you and love you man. Dont screw up like i did. Stay out of jail and stay in school. I want you to be here, not here but i guess i wish i was there. Jail sucks and all i can do is wait. For all i know im waiting for life in prison. What kind of life is this. Its like i know im guilty but refuse to accept it. Think about the tomorrows of your life. Think about if they were all gone.

Your big bro- Steve
